Join KTA, Trish Turo (@CoachTrish), and park staff on Saturday, May 30 for a Trail Work Day!
Are you new to trail maintenance or want to meet like-minded people?! Try out a half day of giving back to trails. No experience necessary--we offer "on the trail" training, and provide all tools and gloves, etc. This event is intended to provide a safe, inclusive space for new or veteran trail volunteers who are female-identifying.
What to expect:
We will be working on a steep section of trail near the Susquehanna River. KTA will scout the trail with park personnel prior to the event and provide more details to those who sign up. It is VERY rocky and the uphill sides are eroding onto the trail. It is an ankle twister. If you are unsteady on your feet, this may not be the event for you. Trail work may include rebenching the trail and removing rocks. More info provided after scouting.
Start: We will meet at 9:30 am near the “cottage”, the little house to the left of the farm house (follow KTA signs from the park entrance).
The day will begin with a welcome, introductions, and safety talk, etc., prior to heading to the trail. We will have tools available but please feel free to bring your favorite trail tools. We'll probably work until around 12-1 PM.
