What to expect
Come join veteran A.T. volunteers in making sure this legendary trail is in prime shape for day, section, and thru hikers! From raking and digging trail segments to trimming back encroaching vegetation, to painting blazes, we're sure to find something you can do. And wait till the end of the day, when we get to admire our hard work!

We'll scout the Trail closer to the event to determine specific tasks, but it will likely include cutting back brush, weeds, etc. in several locations.

National Trails Day!
This Code Orange Trail Care is a registered event in coordination with American Hiking Society's National Trails Day Program. "Join American Hiking in celebrating our shared passion for the outdoors while inspiring your community to leave the trails better than we found them. Together, we can make a lasting impact!" As part of the program, KTA has requested swag: stickers and buttons from American Hiking Society, as well as a shipment of Athletic Brewing Company non-alcoholic brews. Also, you can Take the BTD pledge on their website by June 14 to be entered to win premium gear prize packs.

About the Trail
Since 2016, the Appalachian Trail Section Committee of Keystone Trails Association is one of 30 clubs that maintains the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, America’s best known and most heavily used long distance hiking trail. The A.T. is the largest hiking-only footpath in the world, extending for approximately 2,190 miles from Mt. Katahdin, Maine to Springer Mountain, Georgia. KTA’s A.T. Section Committee maintains the A.T. in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania from Lehigh Furnace Gap to Little Gap, plus three adjoining trails, the North Trail, the South Trail and the Winter Trail
