Pine Grove Furnace State Park, Gardners, PA
Pine Grove Furnace State Park, Gardners, PA
What to expect
Join new and old friends as we band together to raise up trails in Michaux State Forest! Show the trails you love some love! Learn a new skill and surprise yourself with unforeseen capabilities- there's a job for everyone. From raking and digging new trail segments to trimming back encroaching vegetation, to painting blazes, we're sure to find something you can do. And wait till the end of the day, when we get to admire our hard work!
Friday Night Camporee
You can camp with us for free at Pine Grove Furnace State Park. We'll have a campfire, and smores. There are lots of interesting historical sights in the park, and the Appalachian Trail Museum may be open late just for us (this is tentative)! ***NEW: Camping has been extended through Saturday night. So no need to pack up Saturday morning if you don't want to.***
Saturday Trail Work
Meet at the Brickyard pavilion at Pine Grove Furnace State Park (map below) for a free breakfast between 7:30-8:30. We'll check you in and give you your T-shirt. Following a short safety talk and introduction to our partners, we'll head out on the trails. Be sure to grab your bagged lunch on your way out.
Saturday Dinner
Meet back at the Brickyard pavilion at Pine Grove Furnace State Park to celebrate all our hard work with a free catered supper. ***NEW: Camping has been extended through Saturday night. So you can stay over Friday and or Saturday night for free.***
Who should attend this event?
Anyone who enjoys giving back to PA's hiking trails through trail maintenance, as well as those with no trail work experience but are willing to give it a shot. We offer "on-the-trail" training! You do not need to be a member of KTA or any of our partner groups to join us. In fact, this is a great opportunity to see what we're all about and make a few new friends.
**Sign up by May 10 to be guaranteed a T-shirt!**
