- Total hiking should be less than a mile
- Michaux State Forest staff will instruct volunteers on sustainable trail building methods
- This is an exciting new trail system being built just east of Pine Grove Furnace State Park
- Volunteers will use tools such as fire rakes, pick mattocks, pulaskis, hazel hoes, shovels, and garden rakes to hew new trail treadway
- Once the treadway is defined, it is further smoothed out by cutting roots and vegetation
