Letter from the Bureau of Forestry Sproul District #10
"[Above] is a map of proposed timber sale #10-2018BC02. The sale is an overstory removal treatment. A section of the Donut Hole Trail bisects the sale area. The trail will be protected with a 100 foot no-cut buffer. This is the section of the trail that currently is enclosed by woven wire deer fence. Once this removal treatment is completed and the regeneration responds, the fence will be dismantled. It usually takes regeneration 5 to 7 years after the harvest to get to the height where deer cannot browse the seedlings. If you have any additional questions or comments please forward them to me by February 22, 2018." -Eric I. Probert Forester

The 100 foot no cut buffer is not clear. The buffer should be 150 feet on each side of the trail. There also should be a conifer buffer planted after the clear cut to be an aesthetic view until regeneration occurs if it does. Butch Davey
