by Jim Foster, Secretary, KTA Board of Directors KTA held its Fall Workday on its new section of the Appalachian Trail, at Lehigh Gap, on Saturday, November 19. Eleven volunteers came out on a beautiful day. We got a lot accomplished, mostly in the area of the parking lot off Route 248, on the east side of the Lehigh River. We replaced the Lexan panels in the sign kiosk, reinstalled 2 signs, painted 2 directional signs, reblazed the trail in the area of the parking lot, trimmed weeds around the lot, covered up graffiti, and picked up trash. We also had new gravel installed at the lot. We encourage you to take a look at the work we did. By the way, PennDOT will shortly install a sign at the entrance to the parking lot. The sign was built by our friends at the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). Thanks to both PennDOT and DCNR!
